Corma Raises 60M for Defensive Cybersecurity AI Lab

Corma, the first frontier AI lab for defensive cybersecurity, announced 60 million dollars in seed funding led by Sequoia Capital, alongside Khosla Ventures and Coatue.

The Problem

In simulations using models like OpenAI GPT and Anthropic Claude, Corma found AI attackers succeeded 88 percent of the time while AI defenders detected just 12 percent, highlighting a growing imbalance between offensive and defensive AI cybersecurity capabilities.

What Corma is Building

  • First foundation model purpose-built for defensive cybersecurity
  • AI agents that outperform agents built on other models
  • Continuous learning across the full spectrum of defensive security tasks

Early Results

Since launching six weeks ago, Corma AI workforce has been deployed at Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 organizations across healthcare, financial services, energy, critical infrastructure, and retail sectors.

  • Reduced threat response times by more than 94 percent
  • Expanded security coverage by 15 times across different security functions
  • Uncovered multi-stage attack campaigns that would have gone undetected
